Denver Spotlight Patrick and Martha Hyde consider the practice of law the most rewarding opportunity to combine their talents and help people. Their practice combines Patrick's international background with Martha's labor and real estate background. The practice started as a general civil business and litigation practice with experience in civil and criminal trials and hearings. It also extends legal services to Colorado's French, German and Spanish-speaking populations. The firm also acted as corporate counsel to a family construction corporation. Patrick's international education started in 1968 and enabled him to become fluent in German, French, and Spanish. He has now practiced law and translated legal documents in all three languages. He enhanced his international interests by focusing on international business and immigration law classes in law school. After law school he volunteered and translated legal documents for the Catholic Immigration Service, and interpreted in the Denver courts. He also volunteered services to the Colorado Foreign Trade Office, the state office which advises local businesses how to export their products. For six years he taught a post-graduate federal government contract law course at Lowry Air Force Base. He has also written student manuscript materials for U.S. Department of Defense. During this time Mr. Hyde provided legal advice worldwide regarding contract disputes and procurement arguments. Martha entered law school with a real estate and labor background. After law school she worked as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Labor, a negotiator for the Union of Flight Attendants, and an attorney in Colorado Springs practicing personal injury and worker's compensation. Recently she has practiced in immigration, personal injury, workers' compensation, real estate, wills and estates, elderly law and bankruptcy. One reason for the firm's growth and success is its diversified character. This character was exemplified after Congress passed the Immigration and Control Act of 1986. Patrick made several public service appearances in Spanish on local Spanish radio stations to assure that the Hispanic community was aware of the newly created rights. He encouraged his clients to fight for family unity under the law, which they eventually won in the form of the U.S. family unity law. The practice has branched out to help this clientele resolve other legal entanglements as well. The practice has served international corporate clients, helping them acquire business immigration visas. The practice is gaining more international clientele. The firm's philosophy is based upon a love for justice. The firm's goal is to make affordable legal services available to all.
